Michael Yost

Adjunct Faculty, Engineering, Design, & Society

Michael Yost is a professional civil engineer (PE), licensed in multiple Midwest and Rocky Mountain West states. He has also worked in Russia, Saudi Arabia and Ukraine. He earned his B.S.C.E. from the U of Nebraska, and M.S.C.E. (Water Resources) from the U of New Mexico. Early on, Michael performed design and construction administration on water/wastewater, flood control and infrastructure projects.  His role evolved into senior-level management of large, multi-discipline “heavy civil” projects. Michael spent the last 25 years as a principal – business development and corporate leadership – with a firm not rated in the ENR Top 500 in 1993, then grew to the ENR Top 100 by 2017; which gave him opportunities to mentor numerous interns and young engineers to become industry leaders. Michael is a licensed pilot – fixed wing-single engine airplanes, and UAS (drone); and he is a LEED accredited professional.
